Find the part closest to yours. Each one says which technology it is joined with and why another one does not suit it. If yours is not here, send us a photo and we will tell you.
Each part shows a drawing of the part from the outside and a cross section through the joint. A photo would show you only the outside, but the joint is on the inside. The cross section shows exactly what you are deciding about. Most of these parts are also made under confidentiality, so we show them by sector and without naming the customer.

Automotive
The clear lens is laser welded to the housing. The weld cannot be seen from outside and the lens stays perfectly clear. Ultrasonics would leave a milky mark on it.

Medical technology
The two halves are ultrasonically welded with the membrane clamped between them. The weld has to stay tight and must not release a single particle into the fluid.

Electronics
Plastic studs are formed over the board, so it holds without a screw and without adhesive. The heat must not reach the electronics.

Automotive
The two halves are vibration welded. The weld has to stay tight under pressure and in heat, which is why a bonded joint does not last as long as the car maker requires.

Technical parts
Both faces are heated by a plate and then pressed together. It handles large sections that ultrasonic power cannot reach.

Electronics
Several parts are held together by formed studs alone. No screw, no nut and no assembly step that a person would otherwise have to do.

Technical textiles
Strips of coated fabric are high frequency welded. The seam holds better than a stitched one and does not let water through.
Parts like these are joined with the technologies we supplyA selection of typical applications for the technologies we supply. Some parts are welded or staked, some are packed into blisters.
| Product | Sector | Technology | Why that one |
|---|---|---|---|
| Infusion and blood bags | Medical | high frequency welding | The bag is soft PVC and the seam has to stay absolutely tight even after sterilisation. |
| Air-inflated immobilisation splint | Medical | high frequency welding | Film welded around the edge into chambers. |
| Blister with a euro hook | Packaging | thermoforming and film sealing | The tray is formed, the product goes in, the top film is sealed and cut. |
| Food tray with a lidding film | Food | thermoforming and film sealing | Cheese, cured meats, fruit. The film seals the tray tight and the food stays visible on the shelf. |
| Sterile pack for a hypodermic needle | Medical | thermoforming and film sealing | Tray and lidding film are sealed tight, so the contents stay sterile until the pack is opened. |
| Sanitary product with a stainless cover, in four lengths | Sanitary ware | thermoforming and film sealing | One machine sized for the longest version. For the shorter ones only the mould changes. |
| Floorball ball | Sporting goods | spin welding | A round part made of two halves. Spin welding is the fastest and cheapest way to join it. |
| Water filter | Technical parts | ultrasonic welding | The cartridge is closed between two halves of the body and cannot get out. |
| Washer fluid reservoir | Automotive | hot plate welding | A long perimeter weld that has to stay tight for the life of the car. |
| Air duct in the engine bay | Automotive | vibration welding | A long weld on a part with a difficult shape. |
| Control unit housing | Electronics | heat staking | The circuit board is fixed without a screw. |
| Plastic phone body with a circuit board | Electronics | heat staking | Six formed studs hold the board in place. |
| Fuel filter | Automotive | hot plate welding | The joint has to resist both fuel and pressure. |
| Safety net and tarpaulin | Technical textiles | high frequency welding | A welded seam instead of a stitched one. |
| Fluid reservoir with a sensor | Automotive | vibration welding | A whole assembly is welded, not just two parts. |
| Airbag chute in the instrument panel | Automotive | vibration welding | The weld has to withstand the force of the deploying airbag and must never give way. |
| Multi-cavity blister for small goods | Packaging | thermoforming and film sealing | Many pockets filled on one stroke, so the tool needs a high cavity count. |
| Guide rail with plastic studs | Technical parts | heat staking | An assembly without a single screw. |
Within 48 hours we will tell you which technology will weld it and roughly what a machine to do it would cost.
Better still, call. Five minutes on the phone will tell you more than the whole site. Petr Bernard answers it.
