TECHNOLOGY PRODUCT TRADE Machines for welding and staking plastics

For builders of purpose-built machines and lines

Your line has a step that says weld two plastics. We will supply it as a finished module.

You are building a line to order and the customer wants one welded joint in it. Learning a technology, buying a generator and finding somebody to make the tool is not worth it for one operation in one line. We supply a finished welding unit including the tool, with documentation and service, and you build it in like any other station.

A welding unit built into your own line runs EUR 10,000 to 20,000, stand-alone machines start at EUR 40,000. You get a figure for your own part within 48 hours.

What you get from us

  • A price for your own quote within 48 hours
  • A welding unit without a frame: EUR 10,000 to 20,000
  • A tool made for the specific part, with its documentation
  • Interfaces and installation dimensions up front, not after the order
  • Eight technologies, including one you may not have considered

We never mention your brief or your customer anywhere.

20+ years in the field

We have been supplying machines for welding plastics and lines for blister packaging to Czech and Slovak plants since 2005. A fair amount gets learned in that time, and it is exactly what you get from us before you get a quote. Among our customers:

Why bring this to us rather than to a single brand

You sell a line. We supply one station in it, and in a way that means you never have to think about it.

01

You have the price before you submit the quote

The hardest item in your quote tends to be the one you have no way of costing. Send a drawing of the part and a target cycle time and within 48 hours you have a range you can work with.

02

The technology is chosen by the part

We are not the agent of one brand, so we will not bend the design of your line around what we happen to have. If a different technology suits your joint, we say so straight away.

03

You do not test the joint at your customer's plant

We weld samples on your part before you build the unit in. The parameters the joint has to meet are written into the supply, so you know what you are handing on.

Where the unit fits into your line

Welding is one station among many. Before it stand the moulding machine, a robot taking out the mouldings, the component feed and assembly. After it come the leak test, laser marking and a conveyor with finished parts.

You build the line, the handling and the overall control. We supply the station shown in red: a welding unit with a tool for your part, the interface and the documentation.

Automated assembly line: moulding machine, robot, component feeder, assembly, welding station in red, leak test, laser marking and outfeed conveyor

How it goes when you come to us with a live enquiry

Usually you call when the enquiry is already on your desk and the quote is due. So the first thing you need is not a catalogue, it is a number.

A drawing or a photo of the part, the material, the number of welds and the required cycle time are enough. Within 48 hours you have a price range for the unit and the tool, plus installation dimensions you can draw around. The exact price comes once the brief is settled, but by then your quote is already out.

If the line eventually goes to a customer in Slovakia or elsewhere in Europe, nothing changes. The module arrives wherever you build it.

What to send us:

  1. The part. A drawing or a photo, a phone shot is fine.
  2. The material of both parts, if you know it.
  3. The number of welds and what the joint has to do: tight, strong, invisible.
  4. Cycle time, or at least the annual volume it comes from.
  5. When you need the figure for your quote.

Your brief is yours. We do not deal with your customer and we mention them nowhere.

What such a machine costs

The first row is the one that concerns you. The rest is there in case the customer ends up wanting a whole machine.

The table covers both halves of what we supply: machines for welding plastics and lines for blister packaging. Prices are for a machine including one tool. Nobody can give you an exact figure before they know the brief. For a first calculation this is enough. What moves the price of your machine most

What gets joined with the technologies we supply

The joints most often made in lines, drawn in cross section. Each one also says why another technology does not suit it.

Automotive

Coolant expansion reservoir

The two halves are vibration welded. The weld has to stay tight under pressure and in heat, which is why a bonded joint does not last as long as the car maker requires.

Electronics

Assembly joined by heat staking

Several parts are held together by formed studs alone. No screw, no nut and no assembly step that a person would otherwise have to do.

Medical technology

Filter housing for an infusion set

The two halves are ultrasonically welded with the membrane clamped between them. The weld has to stay tight and must not release a single particle into the fluid.

What customers ask most often

Answers you do not usually find on a supplier's site.

What does a machine like that cost?

The simplest stand-alone machine runs EUR 40,000 to 60,000. A usual machine with two to four welding points, EUR 60,000 to 120,000. A whole special purpose line with assembly, marking and inspection can reach EUR 400,000.

What moves the price most is the number of welding points, the cycle time you need and the size of the part. In that order.

Why does the site not say which manufacturers you represent?

Because we pick the technology to suit your part, not to suit a brand. If one name stood on the site, it would look as though we sell one brand and one technology.

We go through the particular manufacturer with you in person, once it is clear what your part needs.

How long does delivery take?

Five to eight months from order. If you need to be producing in January, the order has to be signed roughly a year ahead and you need the quote on the table earlier still.

That is why it is worth getting in touch while you are still negotiating the contract, not once you have signed it.

Who comes out when the machine stops?

You call us first and in most cases the fault is settled over the phone. Newer machines can be diagnosed remotely.

Most spare parts you buy from an ordinary local wholesaler, because they are standard relays, contactors and switches. When an engineer is needed, they come from the manufacturer and already know which part to bring.

Does a machine pay off on a smaller series?

Sometimes it does not and we will tell you so straight away. At a few thousand pieces a year a machine at EUR 40,000 will not pay for itself.

In that case we point you to where to look for simpler equipment or who to subcontract the part to. There is no sense selling you something that will stand idle in your plant.

Can we see a machine before we buy?

Yes, and most customers want to. Either at a company that runs the same machine, or at the manufacturer while your own machine is on the floor before shipping.

When the dates do not line up, we do a video call from a machine that is running at that moment.

What if we change the product in two years?

The machine usually stays and only the tooling changes. On products of a similar shape often only the inside of the tool changes, because the outer dimension stays the same.

A second and third tool therefore cost a fraction of the machine. We allow for that when choosing, so that the machine still serves what you will be making in five years.

Have a welded joint in a line and need a figure for the quote?

Send the part and the cycle time. Within 48 hours you have a price range and installation dimensions, free and with no strings.

Better still, call. Five minutes on the phone will tell you more than the whole site. Petr Bernard answers it.
